macOS Keyboard Shortcuts (Sequoia and Tahoe)

macOS · macOS Sequoia 15 / Tahoe 26

About this list and its requirements

/ Checked / Updated

Use this reference to find macOS Keyboard Shortcuts for switching apps, managing files in Finder, editing text, and navigating your Mac. It covers Sequoia 15 and Tahoe 26; check each entry’s app and version conditions and verification notes, since shortcuts can behave differently across apps or change with keyboard settings.

Punctuation keys use US notation as this reference’s editorial convention. You can switch the diagrams between US and JIS, but the JIS view is only a visual aid and does not indicate that key positions or behavior have been tested on JIS hardware. Here, 🌐 means Fn (Function) or Globe. When an Apple keyboard’s top-row keys control system features, you may need to hold Fn or Globe to use a function-key shortcut, depending on the Function Keys setting.

These shortcuts cover macOS Sequoia 15 and Tahoe 26. Available commands vary by app and can also be affected by changes to your keyboard settings.

🌐 means the Fn (Function) or Globe key. If the F keys control brightness or other special functions, combine them with Fn to send a standard function key.

Punctuation keys follow the official documentation’s notation and use the US layout as the reference. You can switch the diagram between JIS and US. The JIS diagram is a visual aid; it does not mean key positions or behavior have been tested on JIS hardware.

Finder commands and text-editing commands have separate conditions. The same key combination can behave differently depending on what you are working with.

Control Center and Notification Center are included as default Full Keyboard Access commands documented for both target versions.

Commands exclusive to macOS 27 or later in the current documentation are excluded.

When ⌘+Space is assigned to Spotlight
Show or hide SpotlightThis assumes ⌘+Space is assigned to Spotlight. With multiple input sources, some macOS versions or settings may use this combination to switch input sources instead. If that happens, check the Spotlight and Input Sources assignments in [System Settings] › [Keyboard] › [Keyboard Shortcuts] and change the conflicting shortcut. Apple’s note on the same source page confirms that these shortcuts can change input sources in some macOS versions when you use multiple input sources to type in different languages.
