About this page

Checked / Updated

This PowerPoint Keyboard Shortcuts guide covers editing slides, working with comments, and delivering presentations in the Microsoft 365 desktop app for Mac. It follows Microsoft’s English Mac shortcut tables and related guidance, with selective coverage of those tasks. Windows, web, mobile, and other editions are outside its scope.

The tables use the US keyboard layout. The JIS/US diagrams are layout aids; JIS behavior and physical symbol positions have not been tested. macOS settings and utilities can also conflict with shortcuts and function keys, making each command’s conditions relevant when choosing a shortcut. These entries reflect documentation checks; behavior on a particular PowerPoint build, macOS release, or device has not been tested.

These app shortcuts apply to the Microsoft 365 for Mac desktop edition of PowerPoint. They were checked against the English Mac sections of Microsoft’s documentation, including linked Mac ribbon and modern-comment instructions. Windows, web, and mobile tables do not establish the bindings here.

Microsoft’s shortcut lists use the US keyboard layout and warn that other layouts can differ. Switching the JIS and US diagrams is a visual aid; physical symbol positions and JIS behavior have not been tested. Symbols such as <, >, and ~ retain the official documentation’s spelling.

🌐 means Fn (Function) or the Globe key; ⌃ means Control, ⌥ Option, ⇧ Shift, and ⌘ Command. The Mac Delete key is shown as ⌫. An explicit Fn combination is included only where the Mac documentation specifies it.

F-key commands require a setting that sends F1, F2, and other function keys directly. If the keys instead change brightness, volume, or other system features, Fn may be needed. Unpublished Fn alternatives have not been added.

Microsoft warns that macOS settings and utility applications can conflict with these shortcuts. Check assignments when a different action takes priority. A documentation check does not establish which program receives a shortcut on a particular device.

PowerPoint verification dates record documentation checks for the Microsoft 365 Mac app, without asserting a tested build, macOS release, or keyboard layout. The shared macOS commands retain their own version-specific documentation records.

KeyTips require version 16.89 or later and must be enabled with an activation keystroke in the app’s [Accessibility] preferences. The separate ribbon focus-navigation instructions are documented for older versions without KeyTips. Their prerequisites appear with the operations.

Presenter View controls and modern-comment navigation require macOS keyboard navigation. Current Microsoft Mac guidance uses [System Settings] › [Keyboard] › [Keyboard navigation]; the presentation-delivery article still describes older [System Preferences] labels.

Check the app and OS version and your keyboard layout. Behavior can depend on your settings and active app. Each action links to its official source.
