Getting startedPhotoshopWhile editing a document in Photoshop on the web

Find shortcuts for selecting image areas, choosing a painting tool, organizing layers, and changing image zoom in Photoshop on the web. This page is intended for Google Chrome on Windows and uses the WINDOWS column of Adobe’s public Web shortcut table. It does not cover desktop Photoshop. Adobe directs readers to [Help] › [Keyboard shortcuts] in the app for the complete list; that in-app inventory has not been inspected. The entries record documentation checks rather than device tests. US and JIS symbol-key positions have not been treated as interchangeable. M and G each have shared tool assignments, and selecting a tool does not perform the pointer gesture that uses it. Check the conditions beside selection and layer commands before using their keys.

Create and organize layers, then find Adobe’s four front/back arrangement entries. Those four shortcut rows omit their target; their notes explain the related Web Layers panel context without claiming that the key bindings have been tested on layers.

About this page

Checked / Updated

Find keys for selecting image areas, choosing painting and retouching tools, grouping layers, and changing zoom in Photoshop on the web. This collection covers Google Chrome on Windows; desktop Photoshop and Mac web shortcuts are outside its scope. Choosing a tool is only part of an edit: painting with the Brush tool requires dragging on the image, while setting a Clone stamp source requires positioning the pointer. Command conditions matter because some combinations also have Chrome functions; which app receives a shared combination has not been tested. Coverage follows the public shortcut table and cited web procedures. The complete list under Help > Keyboard shortcuts has not been inspected. No specific Windows, Chrome, or app build or physical US/JIS keyboard layout has been tested.

These Photoshop shortcuts come from the WINDOWS column of Adobe’s public documentation for Photoshop on the web. The intended browser is Google Chrome on Windows. Desktop Photoshop and Mac shortcuts are outside this page’s scope.

Adobe’s public shortcut page was last updated on October 29, 2025; its documentation was checked on November 2, 2026 (UTC). Adobe directs readers to [Help] › [Keyboard shortcuts] in the app for the complete list. The in-app list was not inspected, so coverage of the public table does not establish coverage of every in-app command.

The Photoshop records describe documented Windows shortcuts. They do not verify Windows 11, a particular Chrome version, an app build, or behavior on a device. Existing Windows and Chrome records retain their own source-check dates and scope.

The key labels reproduce Adobe’s logical shortcuts. US and JIS symbol-key positions and any layout-specific need for Shift have not been checked. No undocumented alternative keys or physical equivalence between layouts are assumed.

Selecting a tool does not perform the drawing, dragging, selection, or sampling gesture that uses it. Pointer actions remain necessary where the tool’s procedure calls for them.

Adobe assigns M to both marquee tools and G to both Paint bucket and Gradient. The public table does not specify which tool a plain M or G selects; Shift+M and Shift+G are documented separately for switching between the tools.

Photoshop and Chrome document some of the same chords. In particular, Ctrl+G and Ctrl+Shift+G also navigate Chrome Find Bar matches. Browser-versus-app priority has not been tested; the item conditions describe the relevant task, not a proven routing rule.

The four front/back arrangement entries retain Adobe’s English directions without asserting a target. The shortcut rows omit the target noun. Adobe’s Web Layers panel guide names matching commands for the active layer, but does not explicitly connect those commands to these key bindings; their exact shortcut target and prerequisites remain unconfirmed.

Check the app and OS version and your keyboard layout. Behavior can depend on your settings and active app. Each action links to its official source.
