The Generic Windows cell lists Caps lock+prime (′). This is distinct from apostrophe and from the dedicated article’s Ctrl+apostrophe. Visible at zoom levels of 400% or higher. Actual browser routing and the physical prime position are unknown.

ListsFigma DesignWhen you have edit access in Figma Design and are editing a text layer

Start a bulleted list
At the position where a list should start inside a text layerType “-” or “*”, then press Space. Alternatively, KEEP Alt HELD while entering all four digits “0149”, including the leading 0, on the numeric keypad, then release Alt. The keypad requirement applies only to the Alt-code route; top-row digits do not substitute. Figma documents the Windows code. Microsoft documents holding Alt, the keypad-only input and release: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/input-devices/windows-keyboard-tips-and-tricks . No Num Lock requirement or device behavior was inferred. The “-” and “*” marker alternatives preserve the original characters and order; their display notation now explicitly represents typed text.

About this page

Checked / Updated

Use this reference while working in Figma Design in Google Chrome on Windows to find selected documented shortcuts for the canvas, layers, text and comments. Follow each entry's focus, selection and tool conditions; some tasks require a mouse or trackpad. Figma's default shortcuts are based on US QWERTY, while its Layout setting offers Japanese (Kana). This app preference is separate from the physical JIS/US keyboard diagrams.

Figma source checks are dated November 2, 2026. Shared Windows and Chrome actions are listed separately with their original check dates, and notes retain differences between official sources. Specific Windows, Chrome and app builds are unconfirmed, and physical key positions, browser shortcut priority and runtime behavior have not been tested.

This page covers Figma Design in Google Chrome on Windows. It includes the entry to Dev Mode, but excludes Dev Mode internal commands, FigJam, Slides, Sites, Buzz, Make, and Figma Draw-specific workflows.

The Windows 11 and current Chrome selectors preserve the inherited page structure. The new native records document Figma’s published Windows or platform-neutral instructions; they do not verify a specific Windows version, Chrome build, app build, or effective shortcut dispatch in Chrome. Shared Windows and Chrome commands retain their supplied English evidence and dates.

Physical Windows JIS/US keyboard diagrams and Figma’s [Keyboard shortcuts] › [Layout] preference are separate. [Japanese (Kana)] and [US QWERTY / Generic] refer to Figma’s setting. A voiced sound mark, prime, caret, yen sign, and backslash are not assumed to occupy equivalent physical positions.

Figma’s layout tables and dedicated articles disagree on some modifiers, labels, and adjustment directions. Each source-specific route and its actual tool or selection condition is retained. Check the resulting value when the published directions conflict; the notes do not establish which shortcut a particular browser build dispatches.

Chrome and Windows may compete for documented combinations such as Ctrl+K, Ctrl+P, Ctrl+R, Ctrl+Shift+N, or Ctrl+Shift+O. Figma documentation is evidence for the listed Figma action, not a routing test. Ctrl+Alt+P is also published for both pixel preview and the last plugin; the effective priority is unknown.

New native source checks are dated November 2, 2026 and are restricted to the app and, where explicitly labelled, Figma layout setting. No hardware, physical key-position, IME, extension, keyboard-diagram, runtime, or full-axis verification occurred.

The three Japanese-source quick-action-bar routes and older Ctrl+E shape-flatten route are now excluded from this English inventory because matching current English instructions could not be verified; actual availability remains unconfirmed.

Check the app and OS version and your keyboard layout. Behavior can depend on your settings and active app. Each action links to its official source.
