Show or hide Spotlight
When ⌘+Space is assigned to SpotlightThis assumes ⌘+Space is assigned to Spotlight. With multiple input sources, some macOS versions or settings may use this combination to switch input sources instead. If that happens, check the Spotlight and Input Sources assignments in [System Settings] › [Keyboard] › [Keyboard Shortcuts] and change the conflicting shortcut. Apple’s note on the same source page confirms that these shortcuts can change input sources in some macOS versions when you use multiple input sources to type in different languages.

Zoom in
Published Japanese (Kana) Mac mapping. The base record preserves ⇧+ from the zoom guide. The Japanese cell’s ˆ is U+02C6, not an inferred ^ key; the earlier draft reported a parser limitation that the parent has since addressed without aliasing the glyph. Turn on the pixel grid
On the Figma Design canvasThis guide’s tip prints Shift plus apostrophe; its earlier Mac toggle row prints Command plus apostrophe. The layout table prints prime. These differences are retained, with no asserted physical equivalence or runtime reconciliation. The grid is visible only at sufficient zoom.
Official source ↗

Temporarily disable snapping
While holding Control, with a snap setting enabled; disabling pixel snapping also requires vector edit mode and sufficient zoomFor geometry and object snapping, the setting must be enabled. For pixel snapping, zoom in far enough that the pixel grid could be visible; the grid itself need not be turned on. If [Ctrl+click opens right click menus] is enabled, the guide says to click and hold the object before Control. No pointer-free editing workflow or alternate key is inferred.

About this page

Checked / Updated

This guide covers keyboard shortcuts for selecting layers, editing objects and text, commenting, prototyping, and exporting in Figma Design’s Mac desktop app. Editing requires an appropriate seat and file permissions. Conditions and notes identify prerequisites, pointer steps, or gaps in documented key sequences.

Figma’s default shortcuts are based on US QWERTY. Selected documented U.S. QWERTY / Generic and Japanese (Kana) mappings are included. These reflect Figma’s Keyboard shortcuts > Layout preference, which is separate from this page’s JIS/US keyboard diagrams.

Figma sources were checked on November 2, 2026; shared Mac entries retain their own dates. No device tests were performed, and app builds, macOS releases, and physical key positions remain unconfirmed.

Use these shortcuts in Figma Design files in the Mac desktop app. Editing requires the appropriate file permissions. Commands specific to FigJam, Slides, Sites, Buzz, and Make are outside this list.

Figma documentation was read on November 2, 2026. These are source checks, without device tests or confirmation of a particular desktop build or macOS release. The separate shared Mac records keep their original dates and verification notes.

Figma’s [Keyboard shortcuts] › [Layout] preference changes application mappings. It is separate from this page’s JIS and US keyboard diagrams. The mapping variants reproduce the labelled Mac columns for [Japanese (Kana)] and [U.S. QWERTY / Generic]. Physical key positions have not been confirmed.

Single-letter shortcuts depend on the current tool and whether you are entering text. Conditions describe documented editing, selection, and tool states. Figma’s [Ignore Figma shortcuts] accessibility preference can also affect shortcuts in text fields.

The shared Mac commands cover macOS Sequoia 15 and Tahoe 26. Support can vary by app and by your keyboard settings.

🌐 denotes the Fn or Globe key. When function keys control brightness or similar features, use your keyboard’s function-key setting to send a standard function key.

Logical symbols follow the cited documentation. No equivalence between JIS and US physical positions is inferred. The official table’s ˆ, ′, ゛ and ¥ glyphs are kept distinct. Logical-key parser support does not establish physical positions or keyboard-diagram coverage; those remain unconfirmed.

Finder commands and text-editing commands have separate conditions. The same combination can perform different actions in different contexts.

Mac commands documented only for macOS 27 or later are excluded.

Check the app and OS version and your keyboard layout. Behavior can depend on your settings and active app. Each action links to its official source.
